Christian Siriano Responds To Lauren Morelli And Samira Wiley Wedding Dresses After Designing Gowns
Fashion designer Christian Siriano praised former “Orange is the New Black” actress Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli, who writes for the hit Netflix series, on Twitter a day after their wedding day. The two both wore ensembles by the former “Project Runway” contestant to say, “I do,” Saturday in Palm Springs, California. It was the place where they got engaged months earlier.
“The brides wore Siriano and looked stunning!” he tweeted to his 372,000 followers. “Congrats @samirawiley & @lomorelli! Was a pleasure creating this for your big day @MarthaWeddings.” The post was like more than 5,500 times and shared hundreds of times.

Wiley, 29, wore an off-the-shoulder white dress that had a full skirt. Morelli, 34, stunned in a chic pantsuit that was adorned with a decorated bodice in the front and a long, flowing cape.
While it was the first marriage for Wiley, it was not for Morelli. She divorced from then-husband Steve Basilone in 2014 after two years of marriage. She came out in an essay for Mic titled, “While Writing for 'Orange Is the New Black,' I Realized I Am Gay.” Months later, she went public with her relationship with Wiley.
“I realized I was gay in fall 2012, one of my first days on set. Accordingly, I was nervous about the first love scene I’d written for Alex and Piper. I loved writing it, I loved watching a tenderness emerge in their relationship where passion always seemed to be the ruling principle, but by that time, I was so deep in my own self-doubt that I constantly felt like a fraud,” she wrote.
Morelli admitted she was no longer in love with her husband and instead found companionship with a woman. “I fell in love with a woman, and I watched my life play out on screen. And now, as we are gearing up for the release of Season 2, it feels liberating and appropriate to live my life in front of you,” she finished her essay.
The couple's wedding is slated to appear in the summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, which hits newsstands June 5.
