‘The Christmas Edition’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis. Cast
“It’s A Wonderful Lifetime 2020” is set to continue with the premiere of the newest holiday film, “The Christmas Edition,” starring Carly Hughes and Rob Mayes. The film is set to debut on Sunday night.
Fans may recognize Mayes, who starred in 2019’s “The Road Home For Christmas” opposite Marla Sokoloff, and has also had roles in films including “Sorority Wars” and “American Mall” as well. Hughes, however, is a newbie to Lifetime, and is best known for her recently vacated role as Angela on the ABC series “American Housewife.”
Marie Osmond also stars in the film, reuniting her with Mayes, as both starred in “The Road Home For Christmas.” Aloma Wright (“Baking Christmas”) also stars in the film.
So what will happen in this new flick? According to a synopsis, a change of pace will bring more than one Christmas miracle.
“It’s Christmas time and Jackie (Hughes), an up-and-coming journalist, finds that her life is at a crossroads until she finds an unexpected opportunity—to run a small-town newspaper in Alaska,” the synopsis reads. “Jackie decides to give it a try and relocates to the small picture-perfect small town.”
Jackie quickly finds success after arriving—and some romance. However, everything is threatened when she gets some unexpected competition.
“Using a series of Christmas articles, she’s able to quickly return the newspaper to profitability, and soon falls in love...both with her new home and the handsome son of the paper’s former owner (Mayes),” the synopsis continues. “However, when her old boss announces plans to take over the paper for herself, Jackie will need a Christmas miracle to save it.”
“The Christmas Edition” premieres Sunday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
