‘Claws’ Sneak Peek: Virginia Makes Up Ridiculous Story About The Night Of Roller’s Murder

Virginia (Karrueche Tran) tries to cover up her involvement in Roller’s (Jack Kesy) murder by sharing a made-up story about the night her lover was killed.

In a sneak peek from Season 1, episode 3 of “Claws,” Virginia tells Desna (Niecy Nash), Uncle Daddy (Dean Norris), Jennifer (Jenn Lyon), Bryce (Kevin Rankin), Polly (Carrie Preston), Quiet Ann (Judy Reyes), Juanda (Dale Dickey), Toby (Evan Daigle) and Kenneth (Jason Antoon) that she was at Roller’s beachfront house the night Roller was murdered.

“The night Roller was killed I heard a shot,” Virginia shares as Kenneth tends to her wounds in a hospital room. “I went out to go look and somebody is dragging Roller’s body out to the dock. … There’s somebody else in the house. He jumped [on] me and put a hood over my head. They took me out to the swamp.”

When Uncle Daddy asks if she saw any of the people responsible for Roller’s murder, the young manicurist says: “They kept the hood over my head.”

While the first part of Virginia’s story sounds very convincing, Uncle Daddy becomes doubtful of her when her story gets a little ridiculous. “They put peanut butter all over my feet. Then I heard pig growls,” Virginia continues. “They found some kind of swamp pig out there. It started licking my feet, oinking like crazy, biting my toes. Then I heard a rooster, a ram, a bull.”

Realizing that Virginia’s story is getting too unrealistic, Desna stops her for a while and offers her a glass of water. “When you’re dehydrated, you have a tendency to hallucinate,” Desna tells her former employee.

After drinking, Virginia backtracks some details she previously said. “[Then] I realized that they have one of those toys with the barn [animals] sounds,” she says. “There was never any pig. It was them, biting my toes.”

“Thought you said you can’t see anything?” a wary Uncle Daddy asks.

“I could see a little bit through the hood. You know that material. It’s kind of like see-through,” Virginia explains.

Also in next week’s episode, as revealed in the synopsis for the hour, Desna and Bryce are in danger of Uncle Daddy’s wrath when something goes awry at the clinic. While it’s unclear what exactly will go down at the clinic, the trailer for the episode shows a client seemingly fainting and collapsing to the ground.

Amid all the chaos, Desna is still determined to get her dream salon despite failing the “secret shopper” test last episode.
