Cleveland serial killer Sowell's trial to begin
The trial of alleged serial killer and rapist Anthony Sowell is set to begin, with jury selection to start on Monday.
The Cleveland serial killer, who was sort of an accidental find by the police, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering 11 women. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
Bodies of dead women were found in his house when police acted on a complaint of a woman raped by him. Sowell, who served in the US Marine Corps for seven years, had pleaded guilty to attempted rape in 1989 and served 15 years in prison.
He was arrested again in 2009, suspected of killing eleven women whose bodies were discovered at this Cleveland home. He has been charged with eighty five counts of murder, rape and kidnapping. He probably snared his victims in online dating services. All his victims were black.
