'Clueless' Movie Celebrates 25th Anniversary: Where Is The Cast Now?
As if! Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of the movie "Clueless."
To celebrate the event, a pop-up experience, much like the ones done for "Good Burger" and "Saved By The Bell," was supposed to take place in Los Angeles from March 31 and until May 8, however, it has since been postponed.
While the pop-up has yet to open its doors, the momentous movie anniversary is still being celebrated with a re-released version of the film on Blu-ray and a Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook, both with digital copies, on July 21. Aside from receiving a copy of the film, the purchase also includes a "Clue or False" trivia game, a fashion featurette, a look at the class of '95, original theatrical trailers, and more.
Released on July 19, 1995, "Clueless" continues to be "a smart, charming and hilarious classic that truly captures what it was like to be a teen in the 1990s," as described in Paramount Home Media Distribution's press release. The teen comedy was written and directed by Amy Heckerling and starred Alicia Silverstone as a 15-year-old high school student "who thrives on shopping, enjoys the perfect social life, and plays matchmaker to all her friends." The cast also included Paul Rudd, Donald Faison, Stacey Dash, Jeremy Sisto, Breckin Meyer, Wallace Shawn, and the late Brittany Murphy.
In honor of the film's anniversary and the DVD re-release, catch up with the movie's original cast in 2020. Here's what the stars are up to now:
Donald Faison (Murray)
Where to start? Faison has gone on to do many well-known works. They include "Remember the Titans," "Uptown Girls," "Something New," "Next Day Air," and "Scrubs" (which ran from 2001-2010). Most recently, he starred on ABC's now-canceled mystery-thriller "Emergence." Faison, 46, also launched a podcast with his former "Scrubs" co-star Zach Braff in April.
Stacey Dash (Dionne)
Dash has continued to act in various onscreen roles since "Clueless," including VH1's "Single Ladies" and 2016's "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens." The 53-year-old is currently going through her fourth divorce after filing to separate from her current husband in June.
Jeremy Sisto (Elton)
Sisto, 45, voiced King Runeard for the wildly popular children's movie "Frozen II." He was also held main roles in "Suburgatory" and "Law & Order." He has two children from his previous marriage and is currently wed to actress Marisa Ryan.
Breckin Meyer (Travis)
Meyer, 46, kept working on his acting chops with roles in the "Garfield" movies, "Herbie: Fully Loaded," and ABC's legal drama "The Fix." His most recent work can be found on Hulu's animated series "Crossing Swords." As for his personal life, he has two children with his ex-wife and has been linked romantically to "Days of our Lives" star Linsey Godfrey since 2017.
Wallace Shawn (Mr. Hall)
Wallace has been one busy actor. Fans may recognize his voice as the dinosaur Rex from the beloved "Toy Story" films but he's also appeared on "Gossip Girl," "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and the 2020 Academy Award-winning Netflix film "Marriage Story." Shawn has a film, "Rifkin's Festival," scheduled to be released in Spain in the fall. He is 76-years-old.
Paul Rudd (Josh)
Rudd, 51, has become a well-known comedic actor with many notable titles under his belt including "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers," "Wet Hot American Summer," and "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." He also made his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ant-Man in the 2015 film "Ant-Man." As a result, he appeared in "Captain America: Civil War," "Ant-Man and the Wasp," and "Avengers: Endgame." If that wasn't enough, he's also in "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," which hits theaters in 2021. He has two children.
Alicia Silverstone (Cher)
Silverstone has continued to work on various television and movie projects throughout the years including landing roles in "Suburgatory," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul," "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," and "American Woman." These days, though, at 43-years-old, her roles are a lot different than that of a 15-year-old high schooler. Her most recent role is as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer on Netflix's TV series "The Baby-Sitters Club."
