CMA Awards 2011: Taylor Swift Wins Entertainer of the Year and Performs ‘Ours’ (Full Winners List)
The 45th Annual CMA Awards ceremony on Nov. 9 night witnessed the huge success of Taylor Swift. For the second time, the singer took home the Entertainer of the Year award, the highest honor of Country music.
No one did this in the history except Barbara Mandrell.
This was the sixth CMA award for Swift. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter first won CMA Entertainer of the Year award two years ago. AS Billboard's 2011 Woman of the Year, the young artist also was named reigning Entertainer of the Year by Academy of Country Music.
In the year 2011, Taylor Swift achieved great success and made a big contribution to the world of country music. She has spent this year on her SPEAK NOW world tour in support of her Speak Now album, performing in stadiums for more than 98 shows in 17 countries covering three continents.
Bringing country music to the Far East and scoring hits all around the world, Swift continued a run that has made her one of the country's hottest young stars for several years.
One of my favorite things about this year is all the camaraderie between all these artists that I could call and say, 'Hey, do you want to come sing with me?' Swift said to the Country Music Association. And there were more artists who showed up just out of the goodness of their heart and came out and performed for the fans at my shows.
Just sitting on a couch with an acoustic guitar, the Entertainer of the Year performed “Ours” particularly pleasantly. This brave move underscored her basic talents as a gifted singer-songwriter.
