Hundreds of celebrities arrived at the 2015 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, Wednesday in the hopes of collecting at least one award. Miranda Lambert , Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton and more worked the carpet at the 49th annual award show, strutting their stuff for photographers.
While most were dressed to the nines, wearing gorgeous gowns, well-tailored suits and their best cowboy hats and/or boots, others took risks with their looks and they didn't all pay off. Some looks, like Underwood's floor-length tangerine dress, had viewers jaws on the floor and others, like Jason Aldean's 50 shades of brown, left much to be desired.
Here are the best and worst looks from the 2015 CMA Awards red carpet :
BEST: Newly divorced Miranda Lambert arrived at the Bridestone Arena in a simple, yet elegant look. If there's one thing viewers can take away from her 2015 CMA Awards red carpet style its that you can't go wrong with a little black dress, especially when that dress is Versace. Lambert, 31, also debuted new pink hair at the awards show.

BEST: United States soccer sensation Megan Rapinoe blew viewers away in a crushed velvet pant suit to end all pant suits at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday. She arrived in Nashville, Tennessee, to present an award during the show.

BEST: Former boy band heartthrob Justin Timberlake made the jump into country music -- at least for one night -- on Wednesday, performing at the 2015 CMA Awards alongside Chris Stapleton (not pictured). Prior to his performance Timberlake, 34, won over the ladies on the red carpet with his amazing fashion sense.

BEST: Sam Hunt had everyone's heart fluttering as he stepped on the red carpet at the 2015 CMA Awards in this black and red ensemble. While he didn't win any awards during the 49th annual award show, he did win over several hearts both in the arena and at home.

BEST: Cassadee Pope wowed in an embellished floor-length gown on the red carpet at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee.

WORST: Jason Aldean arrived in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 2015 CMA Awards wearing this less-than-flattering look with his wife, Brittany Kerr, by his side. Between the numerous shades of grey and his poorly hemmed pants, there's not a whole lot to say about Aldean's, 38, red carpet look. Kerr, however, slayed in a simple black jumpsuit paired with a plum lip.

BEST: Country duo Maddie and Tae, consisting of Maddie Marlow (left) and Tae Dye (right), showed everyone at the 2015 CMA Awards how to work a red carpet. While Marlow, 20, opted for a more casual look she was able to dress it up with the addition of a bedazzled cover up and matching cowboy boots. Dye, 20, on the other hand, went for a sleek and very chic look, which she totally nailed.

WORST: Brantley Gilbert took to the red carpet outside the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, sporting this overly casual look that totally fell flat.

BEST: Carrie Underwood was a tangerine dream on the 2015 CMA Awards red carpet in this Gauri+Nainika gown on Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena. Underwood, 32, served as the evening's host, changing into several more stunning looks throughout the evening.

BEST: Singer Thomas Rhett (right) and wife Lauren Gregory (left) left viewers in awe of their style choices at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday. Gregory stood strong by her man in a slinky, plum gown with a low-plunging neckline and cut-outs on each side. Rhett, 25, rocked a well-fitted black suit with a matching black shirt underneath.

WORST: Steven Tyler arrived at the 2015 CMA Awards wearing this color-splashed look that just missed the mark. We do, however, appreciate his eccentric fashion sense and willingness to take risks.

BEST: Newly engaged model Hannah Davis attended the 2015 CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, as a presenter. She arrived at the Bridgestone Arena sporting a flowing cream dress with her new rock sitting proudly on her ring finger. The cut, color, and, of course, thigh-high slit on her gown, came together perfectly for an amazing red carpet look.

WORST: Ashley Monroe may be a talented singer, but her look at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday was a total miss. The ill-fitting angular black and white gown did little to flatter her figure and it's two-tone color scheme just flopped.

BEST: "Love Me Like You Mean It" singer Kelsea Ballerini floored viewers in this peach jumpsuit. Everything from the fit to the details to her matching peach heels was beyond perfect.

WORST: Florida Georgia Line hit the red carpet in these overly casual -- and slightly confusing -- looks. Brian Kelley (left) sported jeans, an over-sized long sleeve shirt and safari hat, while his country-rap counterpart Tyler Hubbard (right) arrived in a pair of chinos and a shiny blue jacket. Both opted for combat boots rather than cowboy boots.

BEST: Kellie Pickler dropped jaws when she stepped on the 2015 CMA Awards red carpet in Nashville, Tennessee, wearing a beautiful navy blue Rubin Singer gown. The dress' plunging neckline and stunning drapery stole the show.
