CMS Cameron hires Simmons' Winterfeldt to head new international capital markets group
CMS Cameron McKenna said it has hired Simmons & Simmons US securities partner Daniel Winterfeldt to head its newly launched international capital markets (ICM) group.
Winterfeldt, a leading capital markets partner, left Simmons in early December 2010. He will join CMS on February 1, 2011, to head up the firm's ICM group, which consolidates the firm's extensive international debt and equity capital markets offering across the United Kingdom and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Winterfeldt started his career in the U.S. but has been practicing in the London capital market since 2000. Prior to joining Simmons as a partner in 2007, he had worked for Weil Gotshal & Manges and Jones Day at their City offices.
I was drawn to the firm's strength in international capital markets across their Western Europe and CEE network, providing an excellent platform for expansion. They have a fantastic team already in place and I look forward to helping build their business further by strengthening relationships with their existing client base as well as potential new clients, Winterfeldt said.
According to Jason Harding, partner and head of debt capital markets and derivatives of CMS, Winterfeldt is well equipped in taking a leading role in expanding our already considerable expertise in the United Kingdom, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and further afield.
Agrees Mike Jones, partner and head of equity capital markets of the firm. Winterfeldt, Jones said, will significantly enhance our service to the many FTSE 250 and other listed companies that we already act for and allow us to develop our growing institutional client base across all areas of capital markets work.
The firm has advised corporate and financial clients such as Enterprise Inns, HSBC, Hunting, Investec, JP Morgan, National Grid, Pendragon, Royal Mail, Savills, TT Electronics and Deutsche Bank in recent capital markets transactions.
