KEY POINTS

- Justin Bieber will not be headlining this year, contrary to rumors
- K-pop group Blackpink will headline the Saturday shows
The official Coachella 2023 lineup has been released, confirming that Justin Bieber won't be headlining any of the shows this year.
Unofficial and fake lineups circulated online in the run-up to the official announcement from the organizers this week. They claimed that the 28-year-old Canadian singer would be headlining the annual music and arts festival in Indio, California.
Unnamed sources exclusively told TMZ Tuesday that Bieber was indeed asked to headline the big festival. But he reportedly turned it down as he would rather focus on working on his new album. But fans shouldn't be sad because the outlet said there's a good chance he would do the show next year.
Before the final lineup was released, Uproxx reported about the rumored headliners for Coachella 2023. According to the pop culture news site, fans expected to see Bieber perform at the festival after an alleged poster of the lineup leaked on Twitter.
Last year, Bieber made a surprise appearance at the festival when he showed up onstage with Daniel Caesar to perform "Peaches" for a huge crowd at the Empire Polo Club grounds, Billboard reported.
The 2023 edition of the Coachella Festival is slated to run for two weekends, April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23. The organizers dropped the official poster of the various acts performing this year via Instagram, confirming the rumors that K-pop superstars Blackpink would be among the headliners.
The four-piece act — comprising Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa — will headline the Saturday shows on April 15 and 22 and perform with the likes of Rosalia, The Kid Laroi, Charli XCX and Labrinth, among many others.
On Fridays, Bad Bunny will conquer the desert stage as the headliner and opener of the 2023 edition of Coachella. He will be joined by Gorillaz, Metro Boomin, Pusha T and actor Idris Elba, who will perform as a DJ at the event, according to TMZ.
Frank Ocean will close out the festival as he is the headliner for the Sunday shows. He will be joined by other big artists, including Björk, Dominic Fike, Rae Sremmurd, Latto, Jackson Wang and many more.
Calvin Harris is also joining the festival, but his time slot has not been revealed yet, as per People.
According to Coachella, limited passes for the first weekend are still available on its website. Meanwhile, presale of tickets for the second weekend will open this Friday.
