Sony is reportedly working on a slew of Xperia Z5 lineup of devices. The mini version, dubbed the “Sony Xperia Z5 Compact,” is one of them and is believed to be showcased in a promotional image.

The alleged Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has been featured in a colorful promo image, which was leaked by a Netherlands-based tech Website Techtastic. Even though many leaks have shown live photos of the mini device and the bigger flagship counterpart, this promo image looks every bit an official one. Meanwhile, GSM Arena says, the compact handset will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner infixed in the Power button, unlike the Samsung and Apple counterparts.

Speaking of design, the promotional image shows Sony will be sticking to the synonymous OmniBalance design philosophy for the Xperia Z5 Compact as well. In addition to the white handset in the image, Sony will apparently offer the usual black option and perhaps several other “daring” hues. It is worth noting that the Japanese tech giant introduced two new colors with the predecessor Sony Xperia Z4 -- Copper and Aqua Green.

As far as the rumored Xperia Z5 Compact specifications go, Techtastic says the handset will reportedly come with a pocket-friendly 4.6-inch or 4.7-inch display, fitted with 1,280 x 720 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM unit. Sony has not confirmed the Xperia Z5 Compact specifications so far.

Furthermore, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact release date has apparently been set for Sept. 2 at the IFA 2015 event, scheduled in Berlin. This mini device will reportedly be introduced alongside the flagship variant Xperia Z5.
