Comedian Lee Se Young Gets Cosmetic Surgery After Receiving Nasty Comments About Appearance

South Korean comedian Lee Se Young has undergone cosmetic surgery after years of receiving nasty comments over her looks.

Lee, 31, has made a name for herself due to her fantastic comedic timing and quick wit, but this has not stopped online trolls from targeting her appearance. Now, the "Saturday Night Live Korea" star has revealed that she got double eyelid surgery, which Healthline.com describes as a "specific type of eyelid surgery in which creases in the upper eyelids are formed, creating double eyelids."

Lee documented her journey and the results of her double eyelid surgery on her personal YouTube channel, YPTV. In a video she uploaded Saturday, she got her boyfriend Hyunwoo, with whom she shares the YouTube channel, to film the whole process, including the necessary steps she has to take before she goes into the operation room.

"What day is it today? Let's say a final goodbye (to these eyes)… double eyelid surgery!" Lee began the short clip.

When she emerged from the operation theater, she looked into the camera and said, "Everyone, it's done."

Back in November, the comedian got candid about her insecurities and struggles due to the numerous criticisms that she sees online. She shared the top five comments that upset her the most, which include: "You're ugly," "What does your mom and dad look like for someone to look like that?" and "Are you going to be able to get married?"

Lee revealed that the most recent and malicious comment she received over her appearance was that her eyes were shaped like "10:10" since they were slanted upward in a particular direction.

Lee went on to say that she has been getting many positive responses since she began trying different techniques to improve and upgrade her looks, but these didn't erase her feelings of insecurity.

"I actually lost a lot of weight and I also started to study make-up. I started to put on make-up whenever I would go out and that's when I started hearing 'Oh wow, you've gotten pretty' or 'Your face changed', which I was grateful for," she explained.

"I was unable to overcome my insecurities and so that's why I decided to get double eyelid surgery. I already chose a hospital," she added.

Following her double eyelid surgery revelation, fans flooded the video with praise and messages of support.

"I'm not saying this just to say it but I really think it came out well. I think it might be the best…? I'm so curious as to what it'll look like when she's not swollen. I'll await your future video," wrote one netizen.

"It's right after her surgery and you can already tell how well it turned out…unnie you were beautiful before but now I don't think anyone will be able to look at you after…I'll look forward to your future videos after you heal. You did well," wrote another.
