Conor McGregor’s new challenger confirmed that their boxing match is already being discussed.

UFC superstar McGregor has once again become a hot subject in MMA news after punching an old man in a pub in Dublin. Shortly after the incident, Irish boxer Luke Keeler called McGregor out on Twitter and challenged him, to which the former UFC champ instantly agreed.

It all started when Keeler insulted McGregor on Twitter and wrote that he will be happy to put the UFC star in his place and settle it inside the boxing ring. “Sad to see @TheNotoriousMMA stoop so low. (He) did the same to a friend of mine a couple of years ago and still walking around acting the gangster. “I’d be happy to put him in his place if he had the balls to step in a ring again,” Keeler wrote.

Keeler even shared an edited photo of him trading punches with McGregor inside the boxing ring on Instagram. According to Keeler, all the call-outs he had done made McGregor “angry” and decided to give him a call.

In a subsequent interview with Irish Boxing, Keeler revealed McGregor got in touch to accept the offer. “I don’t want to get into it too much, but I know he wasn’t happy about the call out. He is not happy,” Keeler said.

Keeler then revealed that McGregor agreed to fight him over the phone. The Irish boxer even pointed out some reasons why the fight would materialize if both parties will have no issues with it. “The fight community in Ireland is small enough and Crumlin isn’t too far from Ballyfermot. I heard he wasn’t happy with the timing. Okay, he rang me and we had a few words. I told him the fight was there to be made and he was all for it. He agreed to fight over the phone,” he explained.

Hoping that the fight would really happen, Keeler decided to hand it over to his managers. And according to Keeler, the group is already talking to McGregor. “I agree it could be just all talk. Whether he has the balls or not to get in the ring again, never mind with me, we will have to see. I don’t want to get into that much yet. I have handed it over to MTK (Global) and they’re talking to Conor,” Keeler revealed.

McGregor has yet to announce his official return to UFC. However, UFC President Dana White stated that the UFC star is just waiting for outcome of Khabib vs. Poirier fight in September.
