Conrad Bain Dies: 'Diff'rent Strokes' Actor Dead At 89, Survived By Daughter And Three Sons [PHOTO]
Conrad Bain, the actor who played father figure Phillip Drummond in the sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes,” has died at age 89.
Bain, who starred on the network sitcom with Gary Coleman, died on Monday night in Livermore, Calif.,, according to family sources, as cited by TMZ. Details surrounding his death are unclear.
Bain’s daughter spoke with TMZ, telling the entertainment news outlet, "He was an amazing person. He was a lot like Mr. Drummond, but much more interesting in real life. He was an amazing father."
While best known for his role as the Park Avenue millionaire on “Diff’rent Strokes,” Bain is also well-known for his role as Dr. Arthur Harmon, Bea Arthur's conservative nemesis, who married her best friend Vivian, in “Maude.”
Bain is survived by his daughter and three sons.
