Coronavirus Update: BeautyconLA 2020 Postponed Until December Citing COVID-19 Pandemic

BeautyconLA has been postponed to December. The Los Angeles convention, which is scheduled from Aug. 1-2, gets new dates because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement has been released confirming the delay of this year’s BeautyconLA. “Due to COVID-19 concerns and the strong recommendations of our brand partners, talent, consumers and public health officials we have rescheduled BeautyconLA to December 5th & 6th 2020 at the Los Angeles Convention Center,” it read.
The organizers state that all tickets purchased for Beautycon LA 2020 will be applicable for Dec. 5-6, 2020.
The team has updated the 2020 festival dates of upcoming Beautycons.
- Beautycon New York City: Oct. 31, 2020, and Nov. 1, 2020, at Jacob Javits Convention Center.
- Beautycon Los Angeles: Dec. 5-6, 2020 at Los Angeles Convention Center.
- Beautycon Tokyo: This convention is postponed to 2021.
Several conventions and events are canceled and postponed in the past few days. The recent cancellations include Juno Awards, CinemaCon, the GLAAD Media Awards, the Kid’s Choice Awards and the NBA Season.
Meanwhile, coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 4,700 people across the world. The coronavirus U.S. death toll currently stands at 40 and 1,663 positive cases of the virus.
According to John Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, there are 128,000 confirmed coronavirus cases across the globe.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, was tested positive for coronavirus.
“The test came back positive. Also following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,” Cameron Ahmad, communications director for the Canadian Prime Minister released a statement late Thursday, Mar. 12.
Later, Sophie also released a statement about her condition. “Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon. Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns,” Sophie said in the statement.
