‘Counting On’ Finale Ignores Joy-Anna Duggar’s Pregnancy

Joy-Anna Forsyth was pregnant when her brother Joe Duggar married Kendra Caldwell in September, but Monday’s “Counting On” finale, which showed the big event, didn’t address the newest Duggar pregnancy.

The “Counting On” season finale on TLC followed Joe and Kendra as they said their “I Dos.” While Joy was a part of their big day, serving as a bridesmaid for Kendra, the episode did not pay any mention to Joy’s big announcement. However, eagle-eye fans were able to spot Joy sporting a small baby bump in the installment.

The Duggar family confirmed Joy and husband Austin Forsyth were expecting their first baby on Aug. 30, just several days before Joe and Kendra were married. The couple made their big announcement in a video for TLC, saying they were hoping for children long before they tied the knot.

“Before we even were married we were praying that God would give us kids and we’re so thankful that he has,” Joy said in the video. “We’re so happy to announce that we’re pregnant,” Austin added. “When we found out we were pregnant we were both extremely happy and felt blessed.”

At the time, the couple said they were not privy to the gender of their baby, but they were already sure on how they wanted to raise their child.

“I hope that our child is pretty much just like their mother. Selfless and always serving and loving people,” Austin said, later sharing he’s confident they’ll be welcoming a baby girl. “There’s kind of been a trend with having boys in the family. I think we’re going to break it and have a girl,” he said.

Joy, who predicted they’ll have a son, said she was busy wondering who their child will take after. “I am really looking forward to seeing what the baby looks like,” she said. The reality star also shared that she already went to her sisters for advice on child-rearing.

Austin last updated on his wife’s pregnancy in September, showing off a picture of Joy’s growing baby bump.

While Austin and Joy never shared a due date for their little one, the Duggar Family Blog, which is run by friends of the Arkansas brood, reported earlier this month when fans could expect to meet baby Forsyth. The bloggers wrote that according to Joy, she is due in “early March.”
