Couple Removed From Delta Flight For Starting Commotion, Cursing At Flight Attendant
A couple has been kicked off an Atlanta-bound Delta flight in Florida for starting a commotion and using profanities.
Witnesses on the flight said two unruly passengers created a disturbance and engaged in an expletive-laced tirade against a flight attendant as the plane was set to leave the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Tuesday.
Brianna Morfesi who was on the same flight said one of the disruptive passengers, a woman, insulted a flight attendant.
"Right when we started taking off, she just started going at it with the whole cussing, yelling and being really obnoxious," Morfesi recalled, as per WPLG.
"She was just yelling, just in general, everything she was saying, she was screaming, she was cursing like a sailor," Morfesi said, according to WTVJ. "If you go to a bar and there's a drunk person, she was that person on the plane."
The woman and her male companion then used expletives at the crew member. When they continued making loud comments, the flight crew asked the captain to head back to the terminal and drop off the unruly passengers.
The couple was reportedly not happy about being escorted out of the plane. During exit, the female passenger asked the flight attendant, "What did I do wrong!?" However, she didn't stop her profanity-laden rant, Miami Herald reported.
"The lady was like 'why am I being arrested?' That's all she kept saying, no one said anything about being arrested. After she explained to the couple what happened, she kind of gave her the bird and told her to F off," WTVJ quoted Morfesi as saying. "Once they got kicked off the plane, it was kind of this relief, everyone was like yes! It was so bad!"
Morfesi said they faced a minor delay but were able to reach Atlanta without further incidents.
Delta has since apologized for the delay caused by the incident. In a statement released to Miami Herald, the airline noted, "Delta has zero-tolerance for unruly behavior at our airports and on our flights as nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and flight crews. We apologize for any inconvenience the departure delay may have had for our remaining customers."
