Courteney Cox Said Teen Daughter 'Coco Traded Me One Song’ For Party
Courteney Cox loves playing the piano, but when it comes to duets with her teenage daughter, Coco Arquette, she admitted to having to negotiate for Arquette to agree to performances.
On Saturday, Cox posted a video on her Instagram of she and the teenager performing a duet to Demi Lovato’s “Anyone.” Cox played the piano to accompany her 15-year-old singing. Cox said she had to compromise to allow the teenager to perform alongside her, BuzzFeed reported.
“When you have a teenager you barely get to see them,” she wrote. “So much negotiating. Coco traded me one song if I let her go to a party. I took it.”
Tons of other celebrities and friends of Cox’s like actors Charlize Theron, Allison Janney, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Sarah Hyland, Laura Dern and “Queer Eye” star Tan France seemed to enjoy the video as well.
Hyland commented four crying emojis. Hudson wrote, “Oh honey, her voice.” Janney said, “beautiful.” Theron simply commented with five fire emojis while Dern replied, “Gorgeous Coco.” France wrote, “'Sorry, I’m cursing,’ What a sweetheart!'”
The latter is a reference to Arquette in the video who at one point pauses from singing to say, “sorry, I’m cursing,” before singing the line, “Why the [expletive] am I praying anyway?”
Lovato recently unveiled the song, “Anyone” at the 62nd Grammys on Jan. 26. Cox’s post received 4 million likes and many were quick to point out their surprise at Arquette’s “amazing” voice.
Arquette is the daughter of Cox and ex-husband, David Arquette. She is Cox’s only child, and it seems the former “Friends” star likes to utilize her daughter's voice when she can. Cox is no stranger to playing the piano, frequently posting videos of herself playing piano at various events alongside others while they accompany her with musical instruments as well or their voice.
