COVID-19 Impact On Entertainment Industry: Movies, Concerts, Film Festivals Affected By Pandemic

As the entire world is reeling under the impact of coronavirus, the entertainment industry too has come to a halt.
Several movie releases have been postponed and many events and productions have been temporarily suspended. Anticipated tours by singers and musicians have also been postponed.
Here is a list of movie releases, events and productions affected by the pandemic –
Movie Releases –
- "Antebellum" – This horror/thriller which was supposed to release in April will now release Aug. 20, 2020
- "Minions: The Rise of Gru" – The movie, which was supposed to release July 3, has now been pushed to 2021
- "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" – Sony Pictures has postponed the release of the movie from July 10 to March 5, 2021
- "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway" – The movie has been pushed from Aug. 7 to Jan. 15, 2021
- Other movies affected by the pandemic include "The Forever Purge", " Candyman", "Greyhound", "Fatherhood" and "Wonder Woman 1984"
TV shoots -
- "So You Think You Can Dance" – The 17th season of dance competition show has been canceled
- "Gossip Girl" – Due to the delay in production, the show will now air in 2021
- "The Bold and the Beautiful" – The production resumed June 16
- "Star Trek: Picard" – The production was supposed to begin June, however, due to the pandemic it has been postponed
- "Sex Education" – The show's production has been postponed indefinitely
- The other shows affected include "Friends Reunion", "Riverdale", "Succession", "Barry" and "My 600-lb Life"
Tours -
- Justin Bieber – His tour, which was supposed to kick start in May, has been pushed to 2021
- Guns N’ Roses - Their U.K. and European tours, scheduled for May 29 through June 27, has been postponed to next year
- Bob Dylan - His U.S. summer tour has been postponed indefinitely
- BTS - Their entire world tour has been postponed
- Taylor Swift - Her 2020 Lover Tour performances will be rescheduled for 2021
- Other concerts include Shania Twain’s Las Vegas Residency Concert, Queen and Adam Lambert’s joint U.K. and European tour and Camila Cabello’s entire world tour
Festivals and Awards –
- Academy Awards - The 2021 Oscars has been pushed to April 25
- BAFTAs - The 2021 EE British Academy Film Awards will be held April 11
- Coachella – The music festival has been officially canceled
- The Met Gala - The annual festival has been officially canceled for 2020
