'Criminal Minds' Season 15 Might Feature Shemar Moore's Return, JJ And Spencer Romance
Many fans are now thrilled for the upcoming release of “Criminal Minds” Season 15. The popular American police procedural crime drama television series will be bidding its final goodbye soon after CBS announced the show’s imminent ending. Since details of the fifteenth installment remain scarce as of this writing, avid followers of the show have been creating theories and predictions on what is likely to occur in the final season.
Among the most popular predictions for “Criminal Minds” Season 15 is the possible return of Shemar Moore. Rumors about the actor appearing on the series again continue to swirl since his character, Derek Morgan, was not killed off. Instead, Derek decided to leave his position in the BAU after facing a number of challenges, which included him being abducted and learning that his ladylove is pregnant with another man's child.
When asked if it is possible for Shemar to make a comeback, the actor hinted he is more than willing to do so. “This business is all about politics, so I’m not promising anything. But from a creative place, from a passionate place, if I’m asked intermittently to come back like they did at The Young and the Restless, from my heart, the answer is yes, yes, yes, yes,” the actor told TV Guide in October 2016. “But I don’t know where I’m going to be in my career and my life when that time comes. But is it possible? Yes, it’s possible," he added.
Another angle viewers should watch out for in the upcoming “Criminal Minds” Season 15 is the possibility of Jennifer “JJ” Jareau’s (A.J. Cook) and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) ending up together. Most, if not all, fans witnessed JJ confessing her feelings for Spencer in Season 14 finale. Jennifer developed romantic feelings for her BFF after working together for a very long time.
While many fans think that JJ and Spencer fit for each other, there are a few who suggested that linking the two romantically is a bad idea. One Reedit user commented that JJ and Spencer’s love team “makes no sense” and was just created for drama. Another fan said the management should not include this “unnecessary drama” especially since there are only 10 episodes left for “Criminal Minds” Season 15.
Meanwhile, Deadline reported that the upcoming new season is set to premiere on Jan. 8, 2020. The series will be receiving a special two-hour premiere episode on the said date from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more “Criminal Minds” Season 15 spoilers and updates.
