When it comes to arguing who are the best players in football, there’s no question that Cristiano Ronaldo belongs to that elite list of superstars. The Portuguese legend continues to make his case as one of the greatest with his latest achievement in his stint with Juventus.

In their most recent bout against Lazio, Ronaldo became the first man in history to tally at least 50 goals in La Liga, Premier League and Serie A history.

The second half penalty goal by Ronaldo also put him in the history books as the fastest to reach 50 goals for Serie A since 1995. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined Juventus in the 2018 season and has had a total of 61 Serie A appearances for the club.

Per Goal.com, Ronaldo remains determined to see his team succeed despite the historic accolade.

"Records are always important, but the important thing is that the team wins," Ronaldo said.

Winning is nothing new for Ronaldo as he’s had a legendary individual career throughout several clubs. One of the more memorable stretches of his carer happened when he was donning the white jersey of Real Madrid.

It was during that time that Ronaldo notched a total of 450 goals for Los Blancos. To add to this, he also impressed the world during his stint with Manchester United as he tallied a total of 118 goals and 69 assists.

"We are a phenomenal team and we showed that again today, although we always want to improve and raise the bar,” Ronaldo added.

The manner Ronaldo has dominated on the field is one of the major reasons for Juventus’ success. The club is currently the top team in Serie A with a total of 25 wins, five draws and four losses.

Despite being one of the most decorated athletes in the world, Ronaldo emphasizes team victories over anything. As Juventus leads over the league with 80 points, Ronaldo ensures that the club is focused on doing whatever it takes to win.

"These things are nice, but the Capocannoniere title is a natural process that comes as a consequence of scoring to win games for the team," Ronaldo added.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Ronaldo and how many more future records he will break.
