Crown Princess Mary Of Denmark Restyles Her Favorite Necklace Into Tiara For Gala Night
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark looked stunning in a black sheer and lace gown at a gala dinner at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen Tuesday night. She attended the Arts and Culture banquet along with her husband Crown Prince Fredrik. The thrifty royal is known for recycling her dresses.
The 44-year-old Mary showed off her creative side when she accessorized her look with a jeweled tiara that was in fact a restyled necklace. The stunning piece of jewelry looked unrecognizable as the princess wore it as her crowning glory. Mary was first spotted with the convertible necklace cum tiara in 2015.
The mother-of-four first wore the accessory as a necklace, for the gala night which marked the pre-birthday celebrations or the 75th birthday of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark at Aarhus. She paired the statement jewel with a black dress and co-ordinating earrings. It is one of Mary’s favorite necklaces that can be converted into a tiara.
Mary’s floor-length monochrome gown featured short sleeves, sheer detailing near the shoulder and a scalloped neckline. It also has a fitted bodice and a flared skirt that was cinched in at the waist with a black belt with three flowers. The Danish royal showed off her tall and svelte frame and her toned arms in the evening gown.
She also accessorized with a pair of pearl drop earrings, delicate gold bracelets and a matching pearl ring. Mary paired her ensemble with a pair of gold high heels. She carried a black box clutch bag with a gold clasp.
Her long brunette tresses were styled into a low chignon and kept in a side part with the tiara in place. The princess’s make-up was flawless as ever and consisted of smoky eyes with lots of black mascara and eyeliner and a slick of pink glossy lipstick. The Australia-born beauty was her usual radiant self, beaming from ear-to-ear as she arrived with her husband.
Frederik meanwhile looked dapper beside his wife in a midnight blue suit with a black lapel. The 47-year-old royal paired his outfit with black shiny trousers, a crisp white shirt, black bow-tie and a black and white patterned pocket square. The prince completed his look in a pair of black lace-up shoes.
The photogenic couple were among the senior royals to attend the Art and Culture gala dinner hosted by Frederik’s mother Margrethe. The couple was also joined by Frederik’s younger brother Prince Joachim and his wife Princess Marie. The latter looked beautiful in a blue lace number.
