Crown Princess Victoria Of Sweden And Prince Daniel Reveal Name Of Their Baby Prince

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Prince Daniel have revealed the name of their newborn son. The baby has been named Prince Oscar Carl Olof and his royal title would be the Duke of Skåne. The news was announced by the Royal Palace of Sweden.

Victoria and Daniel left the Karolinksa Hospital in Stockholm on Thursday morning, and are currently enjoying the precious first moments at home with their son. Their daughter, Princess Estelle, four, was among the first to meet the baby prince. She also posed for a photograph with her parents and her new sibling in the hospital before the family of four headed for home.

Estelle was asleep when her baby brother was born the previous night. Victoria gave birth to the couple’s second child — a son on Wednesday. Prince Oscar was born at the Karolinska Hospital at 8:28 p.m. on Wednesday and weighed eight pounds. The royal couple may have been inspired by Hollywood for the name of their newborn.

The 42-year-old father, who was there throughout the birth, personally confirmed his arrival to reporters gathered outside. There were tears of joy in his eyes as he announced the happy news. He also added that both mother and baby were doing well.

The couple were flooded with messages from family, royal fans from all over the world after the baby’s birth was announced. “We share the Crown Princess couple’s great happiness and Princess Estelle’s pleasure at welcoming her little brother to the family. We wish them a wonderful time in peace and quiet and we very much look forward to seeing our grandchildren,” said proud grandparents King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

Meanwhile Victoria’s younger brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia, who are also expecting their first child congratulated Victoria and Daniel. They added that they were excited about the growing cousin crowd. Victoria’s younger sister Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O’Neill congratulated the couple on the new birth.

They said that both their kids Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas were looking forward to meeting their new cousin. Also, Daniel’s parents Olle and Ewa Westling wished Victoria and their son as well as Estelle on the newborn baby. Oscar’s paternal grandparents seemed to be thrilled by his birth.
