  • Crystal Hefner said she sympathizes with Holly Madison amid the latter's feud with Kendra Wilkinson
  • Hefner said she understood where Madison was coming from because she was in a similar position in the past
  • However, Hefner chose to side with Wilkinson, whom she said is "more happy-go-lucky" and "more healed" than Madison

Crystal Hefner got candid about former "The Girls Next Door" stars Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson's feud and why she chose to side with the latter.

During an interview with Us Weekly published Friday, Hefner spoke about the differences between Madison and Wilkinson and suggested that these may have reignited their feud.

"I understand that Holly is probably finding healing by speaking about her experience, for sure," the 34-year-old widow of Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner told the outlet. "I noticed because I’m trying to find my own healing as I reflect back."

She continued, "I know Holly went through some very hard things at the mansion. I think some of the things I went through are harder. … I can understand the contention between Holly and Kendra, especially because Kendra was kind of more checked out. And so, she had to deal with less, like, psychologically at the mansion. And I think that might be a source of bitterness with Holly."

Hefner said she understood Madison and sympathized with her because she had been in the same position. But though she knew where Madison was coming from, she chose to side with Wilkinson.

The two had reignited their feud after Madison appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast on April 7 and suggested Wilkinson wasn’t being honest when she said the women did not have to sleep with Hugh before moving into the Playboy Mansion.

After some social media users took Madison's side, Wilkinson immediately fired back, saying, "OK if you believe this will help women then I will try to understand. I wish I had more time with Holly to understand this side … I wish her the best in life and this helps heal her."

Hefner then came to Wilkinson's defense. "I was at the mansion for a DECADE almost four years ago now and these ladies and their drama were there years before that. I side with Kendra here," she said.

"Not sure why these women who shared an incredibly uncommon and rare experience (that will never be repeated in our lifetimes) can’t get along? Maybe for the same reasons Holly and Bridget [Marquardt] despise me for absolutely NO reason. I hope one day we can all get along and compare experiences," Hefner continued.

In her latest interview, Hefner went on to say that all of them were "so different" and "unique." She revealed she has not spoken to Madison but noticed her "subtle digs" toward her.

"I try and understand her reasoning, but it’s probably the things I mentioned," Hefner said of Madison. "Maybe there’s some more things, but she said things in the past that have been hurtful in the media, and I’ve always tried to not do that back to her. I think Kendra is more happy-go-lucky, she’s more healed. She’s more go with the flow. I think that’s the big difference between them.”

Hefner is set to launch her own podcast in June.
