UPDATE 3:57 p.m. EDT: Police are telling the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the shooter and victim knew each other.
“It seems to be that a female and a male had some type of confrontation in the parking lot,” Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce told the paper. The woman, whose name was not publicly released, was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
Police said a number of shots were fired in the incident and that the shooter also opened fire on a bystander, who was uninjured.
Pierce said authorites have the license plate of the van that the shooter fled in, but it's unclear whether he was the driver of the vehicle. He described the suspect as a black man in his 50s and heavyset. The suspect was last seen wearing a grey shirt, glasses and a blue hat.
