  • "Cyberpunk 2077" still has lots of glitches despite a recent update, according to players
  • The most common type of glitch has something to do with spawning cars

"Cyberpunk 2077" is still looking rough despite the series of fixes devs released. CD Projekt Red offered Tuesday a vague update on the game's multiplayer mode, seemingly hinting that the project is either delayed or, worse, canceled.

Polish studio CD Projekt Red said in a strategy update video that it has decided to reconsider its plans for "Cyberpunk 2077" multiplayer. President Adam Kicinski detailed the team's changes, particularly in areas like game development efficiency, adjusting PR campaigns, and reinforcing internal communication. The studio is now shifting its focus to introducing online elements to all of its games.

"Cyberpunk 2077" multiplayer was confirmed in the late part of 2019 when CDPR said it was in development. In September 2019, the studio noted in a Twitter thread that the only thing it said about the game's multiplayer was its research and development. However, in the same tweet, it revealed that since the single-player launch is set for April 2020, it wanted to confirm that it is working on the multiplayer mode.

The initial plan was to launch the game in April 2020 then release its free downloadable content, then the single-player content and the multiplayer after that. In November 2020, during the company's earnings call, Kicinski described "Cyberpunk 2077" multiplayer as a separate production that devs consider as "a standalone project. The multiplayer mode's specific nature was not really revealed, but it was anticipated to be something huge.

Right now, Kicinski says that while it previously "hinted that our next AAA would be a multiplayer Cyberpunk game, but we have decided to reconsider this plan." The executive added that "given our new more systematic and agile approach, instead of primarily focusing on one big online experience or game, we are focusing on bringing online into all of our franchises one day."

CD Projekt Red has released a series of patches containing fixes to "Cyberpunk 2077." However, according to a new report from Polygon, the game is "still looking rough" based on the feedback shared by YouTubers and Twitch streamers. The report cites streamer Vinesauce, who shares a list of remaining glitches in the game. The most common type of glitch, which many players experience, has something to do with spawning cars.
