‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Patch 1.1 Brings A New Bug To An Already Problematic Game
KEY POINTS
- "Cyberpunk 2077" was expected to become one of the biggest games today
- Major issues, however, hounded the game on various game consoles
- CDPR released its first major patch, but the game is still problematic
CD Projekt Red has released the Patch 1.1 update for “Cyberpunk 2077.” But while the update contains a variety of fixes meant to bring overall stability and improve the game, a report indicates it also brings a serious bug that will render the game unplayable once players reach a certain point in the story.
“Cyberpunk 2077” was set to become one of the greatest titles in gaming history with its highly detailed and massive open-world design and its immersive character customization options. It was also meant to be a blockbuster title, even starring actor Keanu Reeves in a major role – Johnny Silverhand.
The developers behind the title were so focused on making “Cyberpunk 2077” a good fit for new-generation consoles that they forgot to make sure it runs perfectly well on older systems like the PlayStation 4. Players were not able to enjoy the game using these consoles the way they should with all the graphics problems they encountered.
CDPR promised at the time to release updates that will address the said issues. They promised that major updates will arrive after Christmas and New Year so that players will be able to enjoy “Cyberpunk 2077.”
Now, CDPR has released Patch 1.1 to fulfill that promise. The new update comes packed with various stability improvements, fixes for a variety of issues that players could face in the game and fixes for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia-specific issues.
The fixes include solutions for issues such as when Jackie will suddenly disappear in “The Pickup.” Other fixes include those for issues with Judy, Delamain and other things like getting out of the car in “The Beast in Me: The Big Race.”
Along with the myriad of fixes and improvements, however, comes a game-breaking bug players will encounter in “Down on the Street,” Forbes noted. The issue was first reported by players in online forums.
Ironically, the problem occurs after an earlier problem that CDPR fixed. Patch 1.1 contains fixes for when Takemura will not call in “Down on the Street.” The new game-breaking bug happens when Takemura actually calls – instead of speaking, Takemura will be silent and the game will stay stuck in that moment.
NotebookCheck noted that reloading “Cyberpunk 2077” will not solve the problem. And since “Down on the Street” is a main quest, it appears that fans will not be able to continue with the story and finish the game until CDPR releases another fix.
