Dad Admits To Raping Daughter For Over Seven Years And Showing Her Porn Videos

A man has pleaded guilty to raping his daughter and showing her pornographic videos, before preying on her friend who had come over to play.

The abuses began when the daughter was just three years old, the 44-year-old man told the Singapore High Court on Friday. He first raped her when she turned nine and the abuses continued over seven years, The Straits Times reported.

The man, who is originally from Europe but is now a permanent citizen of Singapore, admitted to regularly showing her pornographic videos, including one that showed a child having sex with her father. His name was not revealed due to a gag order to protect the victim's identity.

The abuses came to light after the girl's friend confessed to a Catholic priest about the incidents just before her first communion in mid-2019. The crimes were committed between December 2011 and June 2019.

The accused will face four charges of rape and three charges for sexual assault by penetration. Deputy Public Prosecutor Yvonne Poon said the man fell utterly short of his roles as the girl's protector and guardian. She sought 30 years' jail and 24 strokes of the cane for the crime.

"She tolerated years of abuse despite knowing what the accused did to her was wrong, and disliking it; she obeyed him each time he wheeled her into compliance... and she continues to write him letters now, whilst he is in remand, to tell him that she loves and misses him," she said.

The prosecutor said the father began getting into the shower with his daughter as the girl was afraid to shower alone. He then started sexually exploiting her. He also showed the child pornographic videos when her mother was out of the country or at work.

When the child refused to have sex with him, he told her to try. She never revealed the abuses to anyone as she didn't want her parents to divorce.

When her best friend, a girl from a nearby apartment, came over, the man kissed her on her lips and asked her to keep it a secret. Once he molested both girls at the same time. The friend then stopped coming to the home, but she told a priest about it.

The man was arrested on July 1, 2019. He told police that he raped his daughter between 10 and 20 times. He said he had forced her to perform oral sex on him several times.

Police also retrieved pornographic images and videos from his mobile phone, many of them featuring young and prepubescent female children. The child's mother told police she discovered three stories involving child erotica in his email. The couple is divorced now.
