Following a hiatus due to the pandemic, Dairy Queen will be bringing back its Free Cone Day and treating customers nationwide to the tasty creamy dessert on Monday.

In celebration of the warmer temperatures, American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) will kick off the arrival of spring by offering customers a free small cone of the iconic DQ soft serve ice cream.

“Since 2015, Free Cone Day marks the official kickoff to spring at DQ and is a special tradition for our fans. Warmer weather is on the horizon, and DQ is ready to celebrate the season with everyone’s favorite treat, a free vanilla cone,” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president, marketing at ADQ, said in a statement.

The freebie deal is limited to one per customer and will be available while supplies last at participating locations across the country.

However, customers will not be able to cash in on the free ice cream deal if they visit DQ locations at the mall or make a mobile order.

News of the return of Free Cone Day comes after the fast-food chain canceled the annual freebie due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last year, the company was concerned long lines would cause a spread of COVID-19 among customers.

“Given the state of COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event with your safety and the safety of our crew members in mind,” Dairy Queen shared in a statement on Facebook at the time.

“We look forward to bringing back Free Cone Day in 2022 and celebrating our fans in a sweet way.”

This year, Dairy Queen is encouraging customers to take pictures of their free ice cream cones and share them on social media using #FreeConeDay and #HappyTastesGood.
