Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguares 2018: Prediction, Latest Betting Odds, Preview For Weet 6 Matchup

After suffering painful road defeats in Week 5, two teams with playoffs aspirations meet Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) at AT&T Stadium. Both clubs are in danger of falling into third place in their respective divisions with a loss.

Dallas is tied for second place with the Washington Redskins, while the first-place Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a win Thursday over the New York Giants. Jacksonville is tied for first place with the Tennessee Titans, but the Houston Texans have won back-to-back games and could move up with a home win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The Cowboys suffered a frustrating 19-16 overtime loss to Houston. Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins embarrassed a poor-tackling secondary to gain 49 yards, which ultimately set up the game-winning field goal. The Cowboys offense managed just 292 total yards and the team was penalized seven times for 72 yards.

Things didn't go exactly according to plan for Jacksonville, either. The Jaguars had held their opponents to just 14 points per game entering Week 5, but the Kansas City Chiefs had little trouble scoring in a 30-14 win at Arrowhead Stadium. Though he threw for 430 yards, quarterback Blake Bortles was intercepted four times.

The Jags are on the road again in Week 6 and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been listed as "questionable" with a knee injury. The secondary will also be without injured cornerbacks D.J. Hayden and Tre Herndon.

It also doesn't help that the offense is without four key players due to injury: running back Leonard Fournette, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and offensive linemen Cam Robinson and Josh Wells.

The Cowboys are still without linebackers Sean Lee and Joe Thomas, while cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (ankle), defensive tackle Maliek Collins (knee), defensive ends Randy Gregory (knee) and Demarcus Lawrence (shoulder), as well as wide receiver Deonte Thompson, have all been listed as "questionable."

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett stressed the importance of limiting the Jaguars' passing attack.

"Really important for us to guard the guys in the back end, not give (Bortles) easy places to throw the football," Garrett said.

The Jaguars may hope to get more out of the ground game to avoid forcing Bortles to throw more than needed. Veteran running back Jamaal Charles, who was signed on Tuesday, will serve as the primary backup to T.J. Yeldon.

Westgate Superbook lists the Jaguars as -3 favorites, with the over/under at 40 points. The Jaguars had opened up as just 1.5-point favorites.
