'Dance Moms' Season 5 Trailer Released: Chloe Lukasiak Not Returning To ALDC, Abby Lee Miller In 'Bloody War'
“Dance Moms” Season 4 ended on a high note for star coach Abby Lee Miller. Unfortunately for the Lifetime star, her series' return on Tuesday, Jan. 6, won’t be as triumphant. In a Season 5 trailer released by Lifetime Friday, Abby is seen struggling to keep her elite junior team intact.
“In one year they’ve lost three team members,” dance mom Holly Frazier says in the teaser, finally confirming what “Dance Moms” fans have feared all along: Chloe Lukasiak, 13, will not be returning to the ALDC this season.
While Chloe and her mom, Christi Lukasiak, will no longer be a part of Abby’s coveted competition team, that doesn’t mean they’re completely off the show. With no sign of Abby’s longtime nemesis Cathy Nesbitt-Stein of the Candy Apples, it appears her former customers could become her newest on-screen enemies.
Following Christi’s announcement that she and Chloe will remain a part of the series, separate from Abby, some of the dance moms are claiming that she has now dedicated herself to destroying Abby’s career. But, allegedly, she’s not alone. The “Dance Moms” stars also state that former original dance mom, Kelly Hyland, who was booted from the series in November 2013 for allegedly assaulting Abby, is also getting in on the action.
“Christi and Kelly have this plan to destroy the ALDC,” Jill Vertes says in the 30-second teaser.
“Abby’s a strong woman but this is breaking her down,” Melissa Gisoni, Abby’s right-hand woman, says.
“It’s a bloody war,” Holly Frazier adds.
With the ALDC down three team members, including Brooke, 16, and Paige, 14, the future of the ALDC team is already looking dim. IBTimes was on hand to witness the team's newest additions, “Abby’s Utlimate Dance Competition” stars Kalani Hilliker, 14, and JoJo Siwa, 11, compete with the ALDC in October, but could the ALDC be on track to losing another original team member? In the trailer’s final clip, Holly can be seen going head-to-head with Abby.
“I want you out of here!” Abby yells, calling one of her dance moms a “bad mother.” Despite Holly telling the coach to stop the argument, she continues to verbally lash out.
“There’s the door! Don’t let it hit you on the butt on the way out!” Abby says as Holly as is seen walking out of a competition dressing room. Her daughter, Nia, 14, is nowhere in sight.
While it’s unknown what lies ahead for the ALDC, one thing is certain: This season will not be a boring ride. “Abby’s empire may be falling apart, but she’s not going down without a fight,” Lifetime teased on its Twitter page Friday.
On Wednesday, Lifetime announced that Season 5 will primarily take place in Los Angeles. In the Season 4 finale in October, Abby announced her decision to open up a West Coast dance school, ALDC LA.
Kendall Vertes and Maddie Ziegler, both 12, and Mackenzie Ziegler, 10, will also star on Season 5. The new season of “Dance Moms” premieres Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
