‘Dance Moms’ Star Abby Lee Miller Says Nia Frazier Won’t Make It As A Singer In Season 5 Promo Video
Episode 21 of “Dance Moms” Season 5 is sure to be a dramatic ride. Nia Frazier will perform her first concert on the second installment of the “Dance Moms Down Under” special on Tuesday, but it doesn’t appear her coach, Abby Lee Miller, will be on board.
When Abby told Nia, 13, and her mom Holly they were not invited to attend the ALDC’s fan events in Sydney in episode 20, Holly devised a plan for her daughter to get her moment in the spotlight. After flying in Nia’s "Star in Your Own Life" music video choreographer, the mother-daughter duo decided to put on Nia’s first concert. In a promo video for the Lifetime’s reality series forthcoming installment Tuesday, it appears Abby is less-than-thrilled about their plans.
“I want to prove to Abby that I’m a superstar,” Nia says in the promo video as she is seen walking out onto the concert stage. According to the promo voiceover, Nia "is out to steal Abby's thunder.”
“You are here because I am here,” Abby tells Holly in the teaser. Later on in the trailer, the ALDC coach appears to tells her student she won't make it as a singer. “Whatever. I hope you have something to fall back on because this ain’t it kid!" Abby says.
According to dance mom Jill Vertes, Abby comments stem from jealousy, not hate. “The last thing Abby would want to is feel she’s being shown up,” Jill says in the promo.
Despite Abby’s comments, it appears Nia first concert went on without a hitch. “L.A., here we come!” Holly says in the teaser after Nia has performed. (Fans not willing to wait for the episode’s premiere can watch an amateur video of Nia’s performance here.) Let's hope for the ALDC's sake Holly, Nia and Abby will be able to bury the hatchet before the opening of Abby's West Coast studio, ALDC LA (Abby Lee Dance Company Los Angeles).
