‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2016 Spoilers: Disney Night Trailer Released; Season 22 Contestants Tease Their Week 4 Routines
The ballroom is about to transform into the happiest place on Earth! The Season 22 contestants of “Dancing With the Stars” will pay tribute to their favorite Disney classics Monday during the ABC show’s most anticipated theme of the season — Disney Night.
“There’s nothing more magical than Disney,” celebrity dancer Wanya Morris says in a trailer for the upcoming installment. According to Wanya’s partner Lindsay Arnold, the two will be tackling “The Lion King” for their Week 4 routine, which will be set to a remixed version of the song “Circle of Life.”
And the high-scoring dancing duo wasn’t the only one to tease Disney Night routines. Karina Smirnoff revealed on Instagram partner Doug Flutie will spin her around the dance floor to the sweet tune “A Spoonful of Sugar” from the beloved film “Mary Poppins.”
But while Team Kutie takes on a Disney classic, Jodie Sweeting and Keo Motsepe will shimmy it out to a new age installment. The “Fuller House” star dished to People magazine their Week 4 cha-cha will be set to Shakira’s “Try Everything” from the Disney animated movie “Zootopia.”
“I’m such a huge Disney fan, that I’m really excited to experience all the fun of this night on the show,” Jodie said. “The costumes, the music and the animation will be amazing.”
Like Jodie, Paige VanZant is also a “Disney person.”
“I love Disney,” she gushed to MMA Junkie, revealing she had originally wanted to perform a dramatic routine themed to “Alice in Wonderland.” But partner Mark Ballas had already performed a trippy routine based on the movie with his former ballroom buddy Willow Shields.
“So, he came up with the idea of doing ‘Toy Story.’ We’ll be doing ‘Toy Story’ and he chose the quickstep.”
Meanwhile, Ginger Zee will be the belle of the ballroom as she and partner Val Chmerkovskiy perform a routine to “Bonjour” from Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
“I love it,” she said in a blog post for ABC. “We are doing the song, ‘Bonjour,’ which I sing in the shower regularly. I can’t wait to share another dance.”
Audiences can see which Disney classics their favorite pair chose to honor in the ballroom when “Dancing With the Stars” airs Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
