‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 28 Teams: Which Celebs And Pros Will Work Together?
The official cast of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 28 has been announced, and while fans may know which pros are returning and which new celebs are taking a turn on the dance floor, they don’t yet know for sure who is pairing up with who, as the show won’t be announcing the teams until the Sept. 16 premiere.
The ABC reality competition series is changing things up in the new season, including introducing two new pros and having 14 total—but only 12 announced celebs. Nothing has been revealed about whether that will mean additional celebrities joining later on or if it will mean something else that changes in the show’s format, but regardless of the discrepancy, fans are eager to figure out just who will be dancing with each other.
While everything is up to guesses at this point, some detective work may suggest a few of the pairings so far. Here’s who we think might definitely be dancing with one another when Season 28 begins.
Karamo Brown and Jenna Johnson
When it comes to checking out Instagram follows amongst the cast and the announced pros, several seem like they’re trying to keep fans in the dark by following everyone. However, while the “Queer Eye” star was followed on Instagram by a few different female pros, he notably followed only one of the ones who followed him—Season 26 champ Jenna Johnson. Their mutual following of one another suggests they could be partnering up to become a fierce combo.
Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson
Like Karamo, Kel has several followers amongst the Season 28 pros. However, he follows just Witney. In addition, he is also following her husband, Carson McAllister, who has no relationship to the show. His decision to follow Witney’s husband suggests he’ll be working closely with her throughout the new season.
James Van Der Beek and Peta Murgatroyd
This partnership isn’t necessarily as solid when it comes to Instagram follows since the former “Dawson’s Creek” star hasn’t followed anyone from the show yet on social media. However, Peta Murgatroyd, who is returning to the show for the first time since Season 25, is only following him, suggesting he’s the celeb she’s partnering up with.
Sean Spicer and Cheryl Burke
Finally, while the former Press Secretary for President Trump is being followed and following a few members of the cast, Burke seems like the most likely fit. They are following one another, and it’s worth noting that she has been paired with other political figures on the show in the past—including Tom DeLay and Antonio Sabato Jr.
As for Christie Brinkley, Hannah Brown, Kate Flannery, Mary Wilson, Ally Brooke, Lauren Alaina, Ray Lewis and Lamar Odom, as well as the other remaining pros, fans may just need to keep watching social media for clues and hints, or just tune in when the show makes its grand debut.
“Dancing With the Stars” Season 28 premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
