‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 30 Casting Rumors: Who Might Participate In 2021
While a 30th season of “Dancing With the Stars” has not been officially announced by ABC, that doesn’t mean the show isn’t going to make another return and bring a cast of celebrities in for a turn on the dance floor. Now, after successfully airing a season of live performances during the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, all eyes are turning towards what a landmark season of the show could hold.
After taking a year off between seasons 28 and 29, “DWTS” returned with an impressive celebrity roster for a COVID-19 reimagined Season 29, which included Nev Schulman, Nelly, Carole Baskin and AJ McLean—as well as a new host in Tyra Banks and a new judge in Derek Hough. Despite outcry over Banks’ involvement and Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews’ firings, the show did see a small bump in the ratings, meaning a renewal for the landmark 30th season is likely guaranteed—and the show could try to grab some even bigger names in honor of the achievement.
While not much has been floated in terms of people who the show is talking to or hoping to get, some names have still been mentioned in reports for those who have some interest in being on the show.
Following the finale of her season of “The Bachelorette,” Tayshia Adams revealed she would love a turn on the show—which could be beneficial to her if she is cast, as the show’s last two champs were former “Bachelorettes” Hannah Brown and Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Meanwhile, rumors have also surfaced that Hilaria Baldwin, who is currently embroiled in turmoil over her claims to be Spanish when she was born in Boston, has her eyes on competing.
In addition, fans have been wondering if the show would do another change when it comes to the hosting gig on the show, with some hopeful that Banks would step back after taking over for Season 29. However, not only have rumors she was considering “backing out” been proven untrue, Bergeron has since revealed that he doesn’t want to come back to the show, even if asked.
“Oh [EXPLETIVE] no,” he said on the “Stuttering John” podcast in October. “We’re done, we’re done, that train has left the station.”
