‘Dancing With The Stars’ Winner Laurie Hernandez Lands Guest-Starring Role In ‘Stuck In The Middle’
“Dancing With the Stars” Season 23 winner Laurie Hernandez will guest star in an episode of Disney’s “Stuck in the Middle.”
Hernandez, who will play herself, will be visiting the Diaz household in hopes of experiencing some Latin American cooking while on the road. In the clip released by Entertainment Weekly for the upcoming episode, Georgie (Kayla Maisonet) tells Laurie that her family is very Latina, which means that they follow certain traditions. She also hyped up her mom’s cooking by saying that she prepares the best dishes.

When Georgie tells her mom that Laurie will be visiting their home on Friday, she panics at the thought of cooking for an Olympic athlete. To make things worse, Georgie’s mom has not prepared a Latin-inspired dish in a very long time.
Meanwhile, Maisonet spoke with Entertainment Weekly to share what it was like working with Hernandez in the show. “I’m such a fan of Laurie! I think what inspires me the most is how young and dedicated she is. To be a teenager and put everything into something you’re passionate about is hard. You have friends, and school, and so many distractions, but despite it all, she remains focused. That’s something someone at any age should learn from,” she said.
Hernandez’s episode in “Stuck in the Middle” will air on Disney Channel on Friday at 8 p.m. EDT.
In other news, Hernandez hosted the Boys and Girls Club of New Jersey annual NJ State Youth of the Year gala at Montclair State University earlier this month, according to Patch. While at the event, Hernandez gave an inspiring speech and expressed her excitement over her involvement in the annual event. “My goal of making it in the Olympic Games motivated me to work very hard in my sport. I am honored to serve as Master of Ceremonies of BGCNJ’s Youth of the Year gala, and celebrate New Jersey’s most inspiring club teen leaders who have also worked so hard to achieve success,” she said.
Boys and Girls Club State Director Susan Haspel is also very pleased that Hernandez was the one who hosted their event this year.
