Daphne Oz Shows Off Huge Baby Bump In New Selfie

Nutrition author and television host Daphne Oz just updated her fans on social media about her pregnancy by sharing a nude selfie online. However, she did it with another purpose in mind: to send a strong message against women objectification.

On Tuesday, the 31-year-old television personality took to Instagram to share a photo that showcases her very big baby bump. To show everyone what the female body looks like when one is 38-weeks pregnant, Oz decided to upload a nude photo she took in her bathroom.

At first, Oz gushed about why she decided to take a nude selfie. “Well … we are very close now. 193lbs (so my doctor tells me — i don’t own a scale). Definitely not all baby. taking this picture last night it was just going to be for our family — i have collages of each baby growing in my belly and try to write myself little reminders of what it felt like to know their movements and the excitement of holding them inside me before I got to know the actual people that would emerge,” she wrote.

The “The Chew” alum then explained why she opted to post the nude picture on social media. “I decided to share it with all of you because the female body is worth so much more than objectification, scrutiny, comparison, hatred … we do so much in this skin. We all have complex relationships with the history of how we get comfortable living in and owning it.”

She concluded her post by expressing how she feels about her pregnancy lately. For the oldest child of television physician Dr. Mehmet Oz, these last few weeks have gone by quickly and slowly at the same time. She then quipped that the journey has apparently got her into thinking about a lot of things.

Oz announced her pregnancy in June. At the time the New York Times bestselling author disclosed that she and husband John Jovanovic are welcoming their third bundle of joy into their family this winter. The husband and wife are already parents to daughter Philomena Bijou, 3, and son Jovan Jr., who is just 2 years old, as per People.

Throughout her pregnancy, Oz has been religiously posting photo updates of her changing body on social media. In September, she even shared a picture of her rocking a seersucker bikini with her 30-weeks baby bump on full display. She admitted to Daily Mail at the time that she’s “happy to put up bikini pictures in pregnancy mode.” She added that carrying a baby is the “most powerful and empowering and goddess like” feeling a woman could experience.
