The Dark Souls III DLC expansion is called “Ashes of Ariandel” and will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25, 2016. The DLC expansion will highlight a new area that helps expand on the Dark Souls III story, features new enemies, challenges, weapons, magic spells and more. The expansion also features a new competitive multiplayer mode.

Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel: There will be two boss battles in the DLC

“It’s kind of a spoiler, but there will be two boss battles in the DLC,” Miyazaki said. “Just like in the base game, there will be big changes during each boss battle. That’s being emphasized more.” Miyazaki also said there would be tons of other content in the DLC, including four new spells, four armor sets and 15 new weapons.

New Dark Souls 3 DLC Trailer Shows Off PvP content

Earlier this month, Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Dark Souls III’s first expansion, Ashes of Ariandel. The trailer focuses on the expansion’s new player-versus-player content. The trailer invites players to “embrace the darkness…together.” "Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to expand the overarching Dark Souls III storyline," Bandai Namco explained when it announced Ashes of Ariandel. Players will also get new weapons, armor sets and magic elements.

Due to launch on October 25, Ashes of Ariandel is the first of two DLC expansions planned for Dark Souls III and costs $15 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It’s also included with the game’s season pass for $25. The second expansion is expected to be released early 2017.
