‘Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition’ Listed For PlayStation 4 On Amazon With New Cover
After Nordic Games confirmed that a remaster of “Darksiders 2” was in the works for newer consoles, fans wondered when the game would hit and for which consoles, as the company didn’t say which platforms would be getting it. Thanks to an Amazon listing, it is now known that the game will be coming out for Sony's PlayStation 4 as “Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition.”
The listing states that the game will sell for a retail price of $39.99 and will be out by the end of the year.
This game will apparently be the definitive edition of “Darksiders 2,” featuring all of the previously released downloadable content (DLC ) for the game. Fans can also expect the game’s graphics to get the high-definition treatment so it looks better on PS4.
Originally published by the now defunct THQ in 2012, “Darksiders 2” was the sequel to the first “Darksiders” game and had players controlling Death, who is one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The previous game had players controlling War, the brother of Death, who was framed for the end of the world.
Before THQ folded, it was hinted that future games would include the other members of the horsemen. Those plans were put on hold when “Darksiders” creator and former Vigil Games creative director Joe Madureira returned to Marvel and worked on several comics like “Avenging Spider-Man” and “Savage Wolverine, with THQ going bankrupt sometime in 2012.
Nordic Games bought the “Darksiders” property from THQ, along with “Red Faction” and “MX.” According to Polygon, Nordic Games bought all of the game properties for $4.9 million and soon confirmed a remastering of “Darksiders 2” for new consoles.
While Nordic Games hasn't released any official statements regarding the game, the fact that it’s listed on Amazon suggests that a release date is near. Whatever the case, fans interested in the title can officially preorder it from Amazon.
