'Days Of Our Lives' Spoilers: JJ Makes A Devastating Decision
An investigation found in his favor when it came to his accidentally shooting Theo. However, the situation is still haunting JJ, and the young cop will make a devastating decision regarding his future because of it on the Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode of "Days of Our Lives."
Since the night he shot Theo (Kyler Pettis), whom he believed was an armed robber, JJ (Casey Moss) has been haunted by what he did. He's flashed back to that night over and over again, and even believes that he realized who he was pointing his gun at—and that he was unarmed, a split second before he pulled the trigger. However, an investigation into the incident on the NBC soap found in JJ's favor, that he had reason to believe Theo had been armed and in the middle of an illegal activity, which justified his actions.
However, while that did mean he earned the right to keep his job as a detective in the Salem PD and saw him get his gun and badge back, JJ still won't forgive himself until either Theo wakes up or Abe (James Reynolds) forgives him. Abe has made it clear that if Theo never awakens from his coma, he will refuse to forgive, and shortly after JJ was reinstated, news came that a treatment to try and help Theo did not work, meaning there is less hope than ever before that he will come back to his loved ones.
That news has continued to overwhelm an already depressed JJ, whose guilt will now push him over the edge, With his gun back in his possession, he will decide the time has come—and he must end his own life. He has believed that if Theo may never be the young man everyone loved again, then he, as the one who put him in the hospital, doesn't deserve to live.
JJ will write letters to his loved ones, like his mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and his sister, Abigail (Marci Miller), and reflect on the good times they've all had together. He will even prepare to call his mother to say goodbye as he makes this drastic step. Everything will be in place, and he will prepare to pull the trigger.
However, there may also be a Christmas miracle in store for him—and something could come through and save him last minute. But if not, then the holiday season will officially become an even darker time for all in Salem.
"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays on NBC.
