'Days Of Our Lives' Spoilers: More Bad News About Theo Arrives

He's been comatose for a while now, and unfortunately for Theo's loved ones, the news isn't going to be good about his fate on the Monday, Dec. 18 episode of "Days of Our Lives."

Theo (Kyler Pettis) has been in a coma since the surgery to try and remove a bullet from his chest proved to be too risky on the NBC soap. Since then, his family and loved ones have been worried about what would happen to him, while the person who shot him, JJ (Casey Moss), has been agonized with guilt over the situation. In an attempt to try and help Theo wake up sooner, Chad (Billy Flynn) brought in a specialist to try and get a firm diagnosis on when Theo would wake up. However, the news the specialist brings to Theo's father, Abe (James Reynolds) may not be what he hopes to hear.

The news could be disheartening about Theo, with a possibility that he may never wake up from his coma and truly recover, or it could even be that there is nothing that can be done, and Theo has to just wake up on his own, no matter how long it takes. Regardless of the news, it won't be something Abe, Lani (Sal Stowers), or others will take lightly, and they will all be further dismayed by the update.

The news will be especially unsettling for Abe for a different reason however. JJ shot Theo when he was in pursuit of an alleged thief, and the shooting was accidental. JJ had been suspended from the police force in the meantime following an internal investigation. The results have since come in from that investigation, and the findings could be surprising.

JJ may learn that the shooting is in fact remaining ruled as an accident, which means he can return to work and resume his duties. While the news is sure to be a blow to Abe, it also may not be well-received by JJ either.

He has been eaten alive with his guilt over what happened to begin with, and now, after realizing that he is not being held accountable for his actions, he could instead be propelled to go over the edge.

"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays on NBC.
