They have been trying to figure out who tried to kill her in the first cabin fire last summer and were perplexed after learning that his sister, Jordan, couldn’t have been the one responsible. However, after catching Claire in a moment of weakness, Ben might take one step closer to the truth about who tried to end Ciara’s life on the May 22, 2019 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) had thought for sure that he had cleared his name when it came to the fire that almost killed Ciara (Victoria Konefal) because his sister, Jordan (Chrishell Stause Hartley) had tried to replicate the situation when she was trying to get him arrested with the fake kidnapping attempt on the NBC soap. However, she was also later proven not to be responsible, and no other real leads have turned up, with the exception being when JJ (Casey Moss) found Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) lighter and had it looked at, but determined there was nothing suspicious to it. Since then, thanks to other events, the investigation into the fire has remained at a standstill, but Ben hasn’t forgotten that someone did try and kill the woman he loves.

Now, after walking into the loft and see Claire holding her liar and preparing to set a pile of Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) clothes on fire after their breakup, he could begin to grow more suspicious that she is hiding something.

“Ben becomes more suspicious of Claire,” spoilers reveal.

Naturally, she will defend herself as much as possible, since she can’t afford anyone learning the truth. However, he could decide to still try and look into things a little more, since he knows she would do anything if it meant getting her relationship with Tripp to work out—even if it means eliminating the enemy standing in her way.

Of course, Ben may not get a chance to go very far with his investigation, since the woman who wants him in jail more than anyone because he killed her daughter, Eve (Kassie DePaiva) is now the new police commissioner in Salem, and she already made it clear during a run-in that she believed he was guilty of setting the fire and that the police didn’t work hard enough to prove it. Sure enough, she now has a vendetta to make sure he goes away for a long time, and if she succeeds with her plot, Ben might not be able to prove the truth.

“Eve sets out to punish Ben,” spoilers state.

What makes Eve’s vendetta so dangerous though is that she does know the truth about the fire, and in an effort to protect Claire, she could find a way to successfully plant evidence which makes Ben appear guilty.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
