He has been trying to figure out the truth about who set the cabin fire that nearly killed the woman he loves last summer. Now, after an interaction with Claire that roused some of his suspicions, Ben will reveal what he thinks happened to Ciara on the Wednesday, May 29 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) is crushed to know that he is, once again, the prime suspect in the case, despite his swearing he would never hurt Ciara (Victoria Konefal). However, with Eve (Kassie DePaiva) now acting as police commissioner, he knows he needs to figure out who did commit the crime—and quickly, because Eve certainly has an ax to grind with him, and she won’t hesitate to do whatever it takes to arrest him for the crime, even if he didn’t commit it.

A visit to the loft, however, managed to give him a clue when it came to who might have been responsible, as he walked in on Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), who was ready to burn Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) clothes after he broke up with her. Claire quickly managed to hide her lighter and claimed that she lost it, and even seemed to convince Ben that she was just trying to throw Tripp’s clothes away out of revenge. He smelled the gasoline though, and she didn’t have an explanation for that—which might be what’s making him wonder if she did set the cabin fire. He also knows that Claire would do anything to protect her relationship with Tripp and keep him for herself, and at the time, eliminating Ciara from the picture was the perfect way to do that. As he begins to put the pieces together, he will reveal what he’s learned to his girlfriend.

However, Ciara may not believe what Ben has to say since she and Claire are finally in a good place together, and she wouldn’t want to believe that she could have tried to do something so horrible to her. Of course, she could also remember when Claire wanted to confess a terrible secret to her as well, and if she remembers that and also begins to believe that Ben is on to something, she may be shocked at what she realizes is the truth.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
