She swears she only wants to prove he had nothing to do with Kate and Ted’s disappearances because she can’t complete her own scheme against him if he’s in jail. No matter her motives though, Gabi will do everything in her power to prove Stefan’s innocence on the Friday, July 19 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Gabi (Camila Banus) has been working to make Stefan (Brandon Barash) fall in love with her with an end goal of then breaking his heart and taking DiMera from him, though some real feelings have begun to emerge, even though she denies them. However, all of her plans and feelings were forced on hiatus when he was arrested along with Xander (Paul Tefler) on the NBC soap, and accused of kidnapping Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Ted (Gilles Marini). Xander has since been released, but Stefan is still sitting in jail, and Gabi is intent on getting him released and proving his innocence. Now, that may mean confronting the other man who was accused, as he likely holds the answers she needs.

“Gabi has a showdown with Xander,” spoilers reveal.

Gabi had run into him in the square and snatched his briefcase, convinced it might have the answers she needed. Now, he will work to get it back, which leads to their battle—one Gabi is likely to lose. Unfortunately, it will also mean she has hit a dead-end in her quest to help Stefan.

Of course, Xander will also be otherwise preoccupied, because he had taken Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) “Nicole” mask from her to try and gain the upper hand when it comes to her schemes, but she quickly resumed imitating Susan Banks, much to his disgust. He now knows he needs to find some other way to stop her and get revenge, but may not be entirely sure how to do it.

Of course, Kristen could wind up somewhat screwing herself over with her latest imitation, since like when she masqueraded as Nicole, she is letting her feelings for Brady (Eric Martsolf) cloud her judgment—and more so than ever, he will be bewildered by the woman who is flirting with him.

“Brady is thrown when “Susan” hits on him,” spoilers state.

Of course, when the real Susan also turns up to say hello, that too will pose a problem for Kristen’s newest plot.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
