'Deadpool 3' Cast Member Fears Ryan Reynolds Film Will Flop
“Deadpool 3” cast member TJ Miller, who plays the character Weasel in the franchise, shared his concerns in a recent interview about the movie flopping. The actor is under contract to reprise his role, but he said that he would rather not return.
During a guest appearance on “The Adam Carolla Show,” Miller said that he will reprise his role only if Marvel asks him to. The actor said that he honestly doesn’t want the studio to call him back for the third installment.
Miller explained that the sequel was a great film and they “knocked it out of the park” with it. He is now concerned that they may not be able to replicate that same level of success in the next movie.
“So what if ‘Deadpool 3’ is...eh,” he said without finishing the sentence.
Very few details about the film have surfaced online so far, and Marvel is yet to formally announce the project.
According to CBR, there are rumors that the movie is already in development. Disney has reportedly filed to register a new shell company called “Finger Gun Productions LLC” in order to make the movie.
Studios generally register a new company with a cryptic name to make a big budget movie. The description for Disney’s new company is said to be “guns and ammo.” The name of the company also appears to hint at Ryan Reynolds’ superhero character Wade, who is known to pose for the cameras with his fingers mimicking a gun.
There have been some concerns about the future of the franchise ever since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. The first two movies are R-rated, and it remains to be seen if the company will continue to make the movies with such content.
There have been rumors that “Deadpool 3” will be slated for release in 2022. An announcement about the release date is expected soon, according to We Got This Covered.
