Original story:
A deputy-involved shooting took place before a scheduled Ice Cube concert at the Del Mar Racetrack, California, on Sunday.
According to local reports, a person pulled out a gun and fired it three times into the air. Police officers tased the suspect and subsequently opened fire after it failed to subdue him. A video from the scene shows the suspect being shot while his back was turned to the officers.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed one person was down and had been taken to the hospital. The officials did not confirm the nature of the suspect's injuries, Fox 5 reported.
“The situation has been contained. The concert is moving forward as planned,” Del Mar Racetrack tweeted.
The gunfire was heard during a televised horse racing event. As the horses are mid-race, the announcer screamed “there’s gunfire at the track. There’s gunfire at the track.”
