Delta Airlines is looking to take more extreme measures in response to an increase of disorderly travelers, according to a report from Reuters.

CEO Ed Bastian reached out to the United States Department of Justice to put disruptive travelers on a nationwide “no-fly” list in an attempt to limit chaotic conduct that skyrocketed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bastian said that these measures will “serve as a strong symbol of the consequences of not complying with crew member instructions on commercial aircraft" and “will help prevent future incidents and serve as a strong symbol of the consequences of not complying with crew member instructions on commercial aircraft.”

The airline has already placed around 1,900 people on an internal no-fly list for not obeying standard mask obligations.

According to The New York Times, various airlines prohibited the selling of alcohol on flights in an effort to restrict certain behavior.

The Justice Department is yet to respond to Bastian’s request.
