- Demetrious Johnson and Aung La N Sang are different hats during the ONE: Revolution fight week
- ONE: Revolution is headlined by a trio of world title fights
ONE Championship returns this Friday, September 24 with ONE: Revolution, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
It’s a full card this time, the promotion has prepared 11 fights.
Of course, the card is completely stacked from top to bottom, with a trio of world championship bouts booked to headline and a couple of title eliminators.
Needless to say, it’s going to be an epic evening of all-out action.
ONE Championship recently released a fight week vlog centered around some of the event’s most popular participants, giving fans a sneak peek of what the athletes are doing behind the scenes as they prepare to step inside the Circle.
Among those featured, the main attraction is the Sanford MMA duo of Martin Nguyen—who will fight Kim Jae Woong on Friday—and Aung La N Sang, who can be seen running through final preparations with his friend and teammate before the big day.
Nguyen swims laps in the pool before being joined by Aung La, who quickly reminds fans that he is more of a mixed martial artist than a competitive swimmer.
The biggest reveal of them all is “The Burmese Python” can’t swim.
They are joined by another dynamic duo from the northwest: Demetrious Johnson and James Yang.
While Johnson is normally the focus of the attention, this fight week marks Yang’s professional MMA debut.
The Washington native shows off his traditional kung fu and lion dancing background for the cameras, giving fans a taste of what to expect when the first bell sounds.
In addition, the bad blood continues to boil between heavyweight Amir Aliakbari and Anatoly Malykhin.
Aliakbari explains his repulsion with what he perceives as childlike behavior from Malykhin.
This is followed by Malykhin light-heartedly enjoying fight week, promising no grappling exchanges in this wrestler-versus-wrestler affair.
Overall, the energy seems to be back in full swing among the ONE Championship athletes. Seeing a normal, in-person fight week is just what the doctor ordered ahead of a major event.
ONE: Revolution is headlined by Christian Lee who defends his lightweight crown against South Korea’s Ok Rae Yoon.
Meanwhile, Joshua Pacio completes his trilogy against Yosuke Saruta with the strawweight belt on the line.
