Demi Lovato Announces New YouTube Documentary Premiere Date After Dodging Bisexuality Reports
Demi Lovato recently announced that the premiere date for her upcoming YouTube documentary, “Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated,” has been pushed back.
Originally, the video was supposed to premiere on Oct. 12, but it will now be released on Oct. 17. “My fans have been on this journey with me since I was 8 years old and have shared in some of the most important moments in my life. As I embark on a new journey both personally and professionally, it was important to me to create this documentary with a platform that would allow me to continue to bring my story directly to my fans,” she said in a statement.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the feature-length film will center on the making of Lovato’s upcoming album, “Tell Me You Love Me,” which will be available starting Sept. 29. The documentary will also tackle the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer’s struggles with her eating disorder and sobriety.
While speaking with the publication, Lovato admitted that it was a bit challenging to invite cameras into her personal space in the beginning. “It’s definitely a challenge, because you just want to be completely open and free, and when you have cameras on you, you don’t feel like you can do that. But you get used to it. And once you get past that mentality, you forget the cameras are there and you’re able to be completely vulnerable,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Lovato recently dodged questions about her sexuality after a photo of herself and another woman circulated online. “Thank you for the opportunity, but I think I’m gonna pass,” she told Pride Source when asked to address the rumors of her being bisexual.
But Lovato also told the publication that she will be sharing some information about her sexuality in her upcoming documentary. “I have a documentary coming out on Oct. 12 and I answer a lot of questions in my documentary,” she said.
When asked if some of the questions she will answer have to do with her sexuality, Lovato said, “Yeah, some about that. Because if I ever want to talk about it, I want it to be on my own terms.”
