Is romance budding between Demi Lovato and John Mayer?

The singers were spotted having dinner in L.A. and the “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer had his arm around Lovato, a source told Us Weekly. The two were reportedly not overly romantic, but Mayer “was whispering sweet nothings” to Lovato’s ear. The two looked like they were enjoying their time together, the source added.

Even though there were no romance rumors about the two in the past, Mayer and Lovato have been vocal about how much they admire each other’s work. The two even collaborated on a song, entitled “World of Chances.”

Speaking of Mayer, Lovato told MTV: “John Mayer’s been a huge influence on me. His songwriting really inspires me. I guess he heard I was a huge fan, and he sent me a letter. Then we ended up writing together. And it was really great ‘cause he actually reached out to me, and it was like a dream come true.”

Meanwhile, Mayer shared his admiration for Lovato via tweets. In a post, the “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” singer said: “I have ‘La La Land’ by @ddlovato stuck in my head. Actually, it’s not stuck. I’m choosing to sing it. B section is sophisticated.”

Though the dinner may have just been a meeting about a new collaboration, fans can’t help but wonder whether it was something romantic, especially since the two are currently single. Lovato recently broke up with Wilmer Valderrama, whom she dated for six years. Mayer has not been romantically linked to anyone this year.

Shortly after Lovato’s split from Valderrama, she was spotted on a date with Odell Beckham Jr. There were also rumors that the singer was dating MMA star Luke Rockhold.

Lovato and Mayer have yet to address rumors that they are dating.
