As reports of actress Demi Moore's stint in the Cirque Lodge rehab center begin to emerge, Rumor Willis finally let loose a comment on the situation, telling Perez Hilton (apparently): Of course the situation weighs heavily on me. My mother is on the road to recovery. It's slow going but we believe in her. Perez seems to think Demi will be inside for some time. She's certainly about fit for some struggle: we take a look back at the actress's improbably good, sometimes controversial, life.

When celebrity was at its most surreal in the mid '90s, Demi and Bruce took a large stake in promoting various Planet Hollywood franchises. This was a great opportunity to remind everyone that she really wanted to sing. I don't remember if she was good, either. This, in an initial flash of identity crisis, is the face of unabashed old Hollywood Cool. You want them both so badly to succeed. (Demi Moore and Bruce Willis arrive for a VIP screening of Moore's new film "Indecent Proposal" on April 6, 1993 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.)

When Moore put out the then-racy "Striptease" in 1995, she again drew attention for baring it all. After coming up in Hollywood through work on soaps such as General Hospital, one of Moore's most noticed early performances was that of Jules in the Brat Pack "St. Elmo's Fire." Unfortunately certain aspects of that role and on-screen breakdown now seem oddly prescient.

This might be the most surreal picture of Moore's career. Avoiding being typecast with a skinhead, Demi cropped her top for her great part in "GI Jane." Around this time, she and Bruce could basically go anywhere and do anything. Here, they are pictured US Olympic gymnast Kerri Strugg.
